Can you replace the solar panel on solar lights? ›

This adds about 50% to the total cost of the walkway light, but vastly improves its function. replacing the original solar panel with a larger one enables is to charge in less light, which in turn lets the walkway light fully charge even when placed in a fairly shady location.

The most common repair to a solar light is replacing the battery with a rechargeable battery (Not a disposable battery,) please. Replacing the battery with a disposable battery is a mistake I see in many of the solar lights I salvage.

If you have cut wires, follow the same process as fixing broken wires. Cut the broken section of wire, strip the ends, twist the ends together, solder the connection, and cover with electrical tape. To fix broken wires on solar fairy lights, use a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment.

The most likely cause is the battery. For one reason or another, it's not holding or receiving enough charge. There are a few things that you can try here... The first is the same as above: switch off and allow them to charge for 36-48 hours before turning them back on again.
