Powerful Ingredients = Powerful Benefits

When we think of hormones a lot of us immediately think of pregnancy or menopause. Yet, hormones are a key factor in determining how every woman feels day to day. So, in June, I reached out to Angie Tebbe, the co-founder of Rae Wellness. While the brand’s Metabolism Drops were trending on Tiktok, I wanted to focus on Rebalance a supplement blend designed to support hormonal health.

“Hormones affect almost every aspect of women’s health, acting like the body’s natural regulators for everything from sex drive to energy, mood, sleep, and fertility.” Angie told me. When I asked how the supplement blends help with hormonal health she stated that, “The ReBalance capsules are designed to gently support hormonal balance all month long. They are formulated with a powerful mix of vitamins, cordyceps and reishi, dandelion and black pepper, and they include digestive enzymes to support regularity, especially during that time of month.” And, like all Rae products these natural blends are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and artificial preservative-free properties.

Cordyceps: This type of fungi is native the mountainous regions in China and has been listed in ancient Chinese medical books. In recent years, studies suggest that it has the ability to help treat menopausal symptoms.

Reishi: This is a type of mushroom also comes from Asia and has been in used in traditional Chinese medicine. Recent clinical trials have shown that when given reishi in powder form they experienced decreased levels of fatigue and other symptoms associated with have a lack of energy such as headaches and irritability.

Dandelion: Often times dandelion is used in teas since the root is used for digestive disorders and the leaves are affiliated with alleviating water retention. In a 2007 study it was shown to regulate hormone receptors in mice.

Black Pepper: This is more than just one of the most used spices in the world. In studies it has been shown to improve brain function by decreasing oxidative stress and may regulate and improve blood sugar metabolism.

After One Month I Felt…

Usually on the days leading up to my cycle I become a bit of an emotional curveball. Yet, after taking these products, my usual monthly emotional whiplash had simmered. I didn’t have to hide in my room to avoid an argument or a sad spiral. Whether it was my hormone levels shifting or just the excitement of my ability to socialize while on my period, I found myself smiling so much more.

In the first couple of weeks of using their products I did find that my digestion had also changed. I had to make more trips to the bathroom and my number 2’s were a bit more watery than normal. I feel as though it was my body’s way of adapting to the change to my routine, just as it does with any diet change. And, after 3 weeks, my digestion was all back to normal.

When I asked fellow Wellness Feed writer & founder Lindsay about how the supplements impacted her hormones after the one month trial, her answer was surprisingly different. “Oh, the emotional upheaval was still there, maybe a bit quieter this month, but the mountainous pimples that usually come around my jawline never came,” she explained. She also noticed that her generally quaint A-cups were a bit fuller than normal. Considering Rae Wellness’s power house ingredient list that includes reishi mushroom (which has been used in clinic trials to regulate low estrogen levels), it could impact various aspects of her physical appearance.

* Now, we’re not saying it’ll bump you up a cup size or alleviate all your negative emotions. We’re simply sharing our review about how Rae has helped us become better versions of ourselves.

Inspiring Women & Girls Everywhere

“We have taken a purpose-driven approach to the company from the first day Rae was conceived.” In addition to Rae’s focus on helping women all over the country reach their full potential, Angie mentions other ways that they try to inspire and nurture women’s health, this time through the next generation. Rae contributes 5% of their revenue to Girls Inc., an organization that aims to help the next generation of women. The non profit serves girls ages 6- 18 with professional-lead programs to mentor and nurture them to reach their full potential. “They think about every facet –and work to address each to ensure all girls become strong, smart, and bold,” Angie told us about their programs. There is career shadowing and yearlong intensive stem labs. And, through the ‘healthy living’ initiative physical activity and body positivity are promoted. “Girls, Inc was a natural fit because their values and approach are aligned with ours. I have continued to see firsthand the impact they have had on so many girls, and I am impressed by the way they support so many girls in such a holistic way. “

Supporting women and girls is what Rae is truly about. After all the brand aims to offer herbal supplements that are inclusive to both women’s needs (such as hormonal health) and economic status. “When I sought to take better care of myself through supplements, and I found one of two things. First, for the quality women deserve, it was all expensive. Secondly, those supplements that did exist at the price point I was willing to pay, were either not made for women or were full of sugar usually in a gummy format,” Angie said. Yet, when life hands you lemons you create holistic lemonade “So, I had this idea to create holistic and accessible products that did not exist.”

As a decently-healthy female myself, I’m thankful that Angie did create something that wasn’t available to me on the market before. And, as she helps women like us invest in becoming the bold and strong women that we’re meant to be, I hope that we’ll can help the next generation to follow in our footsteps.
