For a long time, I didn’t give the look and style of our laundry room a second thought. But at some point, I realized that since I spend so much time doing laundry, our laundry room probably deserves more attention than any other space in our home! With that in mind, today I’m sharing dozens of stylish laundry room ideas for 2024, with storage solutions, decorating tips and ideas, and designer inspiration for making your laundry room a beautiful and functional space in which you love to spend time.
And, since mudrooms are often combined with or adjacent to the laundry room, at the bottom of this post I also share several beautiful and creative mudroom ideas filled with inspiration.

Laundry Room Trends for 2024
In 2024 and 2025 laundry room trends, you can expect to see a return in popularity of wood cabinetry, natural stone flooring and backsplash materials, and mixed metal finishes for lighting, faucets, and cabinet hardware.
Dog washing stations, complete with dedicated dog baths or showers are also a popular laundry room feature in 2024.
What design styles are trending this year? In 2024, in addition to a revival of European style, cottage style, and Mediterranean style decor, we’re seeing plenty of modern organic and California casual style spaces incorporating natural wood and stone elements as well as shiplap wall treatments.
Rather than certain home trends growing or declining in popularity in 2024, the lines between different interior design styles are blurring.

To make your laundry room or mudroom feel cohesive, start with a color palette or design style you love, then add in decor, accents, and storage solutions that bring your space to life.
If your laundry room or mudroom is near your kitchen, it’s a good idea to carry your kitchen cabinet style and/or color into the laundry room or mudroom.
You might also want to consider choosing metal finishes, flooring, and decor that complements the finishes and design style of your kitchen or other adjoining spaces.

Adding a drying rack to hang wet clothing is a great way to make your laundry room more functional.
A simple closet rod hung above the washer and dryer is an easy way to bring functionality and beauty to your laundry room.
3. Incorporate creative storage solutions
Laundry rooms and mudrooms are often a space to store things like light bulbs, cleaning supplies, and paper goods.
So, to help keep clutter to a minimum, try to think of everything you want to keep in your laundry room or mudroom and then decide what kind of storage options you’ll need.
Rolling laundry hampers are a great way to keep laundry sorted and off the floor and countertops.
