When the spinach is worked into the turkey meatball mixture, somehow you don’t even taste the spinach once the meatballs are baked! If you cover the meatballs with sauce and don’t look inside when biting into them, most people wouldn’t even notice that the spinach is there!

These baked turkey spinach meatballs taste great with or without sauce! Here are some sauces that will be awesome with these healthy meatballs: made from scratch tomato sauce, tzatziki yogurt sauce, cranberry orange sauce or homemade bbq sauce. You can add the sauce to these meatballs and serve them over pasta or rice or alongside mashed potatoes. Or you can serve this turkey spinach meatballs plain – they are so tender and yummy!

I usually serve these baked meatballs as a main dish, but they also work great as an appetizer. You can make them smaller in size and put a toothpick in each cooked meatball, making it into a perfect co*cktail finger food!

These baked turkey spinach meatballs freeze perfectly. As I wrote in my guide on how to freeze meatballs, I like to freeze meatballs cooked. Just bake the meatballs as usual, then line a large plate with parchment paper, put the meatballs on a plate so they are not touching, put in a freezer and freeze for 1 hour. Afterwards, put the frozen meatballs in a large ziploc bag and put back in a freezer. When ready to eat, just defrost as many meatballs as you need – in a refrigerator overnight or in a microwave. Enjoy!
